Excellent Brimrun. #3 is quite nice. I would like to see a version of #3 with the beast's head and torso and guy in boat a bit more centered and the guy struggling with the tail a bit off centered and slightly behind the wave. I also feel there is something cool to do with #1 if you feel like playing a bit with it (tilt the view a little, bring camera closer, maybe have the guy more behind the rock where the beast is...) I must say I also like that thumbnail you did in your first draft, the one in the middle: I keep seeing the character in foreground like he just captured the beast in a big fish net...
