Final Comps - Noah (Update)

Just a progress update

Something like this? It looks weird if it goes underneath

Thought I might as well post progress on this piece as well

Oni updates (UPDATED)

Hi Donald! Here the last adjustments. I added the "vignette" layer for a more focus on the characters, I've faded the hilights on the armor, I've moved the spikes and I've increased the contrast on the demon face, also adding terminators. As always your feedback is apprecciated.

Thank you in advance for your time

more changes Week 10

Hey Donald. I changed the tentacles as you suggested, got rid of the planet and moved the ship higher up and scaled it down a little. I felt like the background needed to be much darker to give more contrast plus I wanted to make it feel more like space.

update

Duy Hoang - Update

Hi Donald. Here is my progression so far. In this one, lighting and objects aren't refine yet. I have to play with it. The issues that I got with this piece is maybe the placement of each element that I'm not sure and the contrast. Also, I'm not sure about the wall on the left what is going to be. So, yeah.

Hey Donald, here is a revised version with the changes you suggested last week. Let me know your thoughts please.

Final week (updated)

Toned down the size of the antennae as you suggested, Donald. If it's too subtle, let me know.

I went back and forth on the rocks, seeing what they looked like in their more simplified forms (as we talked about), but I ended up feeling better about simply pushing back the intensity of the red for a middle ground of sorts.

Added a little more dust, the purple rays, vehicle depreciation, etc.

I'm thinking of doing possibly one more image.

Space Monster - Noah (updated)

So for a while something just felt wrong about this image and I didn't know where to take it.  I wanted to be able to show the space ship in a way that was understandable but didn't clutter the image and I also spent a bit of time overthinking the alien and how to make it look right floating in space but it's alien... doesn't really matter.  So right now i have it so the box I sketched is a star wars-esque docking bay like they have in the floor of some of the ships.  The astronaut would be inside the ship and alien is pulling him out from underneath. I'm still not happy with the pose. You don't feel the struggle of him trying to escape yet but it's getting close I think.  The one thing I'm still not sure about is what to do about lighting.  Right now it feels too balanced so I was thinking i could maybe have the light from the interior of the ship or if I imagine the ship has been damaged by this creature attacking then the alien could be backlit by some distant planet/star and the ship interior would be quite dark.

(update: here's the new pose.  I definitely like this more!)

Update

Hi Donald! Here the image with the last modifications. The wall darker and the adjustements on the horns. What do you think? Thank you for your time!

Shen Jia - Week 09 (WIP)

Still trying to work out the colours.

Trying to find the right values for the bottom of the boat at the moment. I want it to be dark enough to make the fish pop out, but still be able to add a see a bit of details.

The bubbles and the godray effects are just placeholders at the moment. I was thinking at the very end, I can use some small bubbles here and there to connect the entire composition together a bit better.

Bought some dishwashing liquid today that has to my surprise the exact view of the fish that I was trying to explain to you :)

Tarik - Personnal Piece

Hello Donald,

As I am nearly done with my second illustration I am working on a personal piece (kind of a second piece for digital painting 2 which has to include a horse) but any feedback is good to take. So I would appreciate some feedback on this if you don't mind. I am actually bugged by the horses legs. Thanks in advance !

Simon - Week 9

update

Hey Donald, I rotated the head a little but am having trouble rotating the torso.

Update

Hi Donald, this is quite the final result! What do you think? I wait for your precious feedbacks
Thanks in advance! I've just realized that on my laptop seems more desaturated so probably you'll see the image quite different. We can have a look in class

Week 8 - Andrew

Hello! This is the progress I've made thus far. The ghost transformed into some other kind of monster but I like the direction it's taking. Any feedback or critiques are appreciated, thanks!

progress update for feedback

Hey Donald,I'm posting a update for more feedback please. I made the perimeter of the planet larger as you suggested and made the crater a little smaller. I've gone ahead with an expression that I liked and started rendering. Let me know what else needs adjusting/improving,
Thank you.

Week 8 - Noah (updated)

I reduced the size of the sun.  Added some more saturated areas to the creatures gums and I also played with a reflection from the boat.

And thus, the rendering went on as such.
The flashlight area is thee only part of which im not satisfied ... the rest is just minor fixes ..
As allways  feedback is much appreciated

Have a good one kids !!

Power outage

So idk if anyone else has heard but there is a big gas leak at mcgill metro /the Eaton centre. Atm the power is shut in the area so currently syn studio has no power. It's estimated to be back by 6, so hopefully class will be uninterrupted

Week 8 - Brimrún

This is what i got for this week, didn't have that much time to work on it but I'm getting there.

Tarik - Week8 (Sea Beast)

I have the feeling it's pretty much done. I can keep on adding details but it's not gonna change anything about the composition. But there are probably problems I don't see anymore so I would very much appreciate any feedback on it before release. Thanks very much in advance !
